Andreas Forsberg is a senior freelance IT consultant with over 30 years of experience in the industry who became self-employed in 2020. He specializes in .NET development, primarily in the backend, and over the years has worked in many different types of businesses, including banking, e-commerce, insurance, and media. However, becoming a developer was never part of his original plan.
“I suppose I’m more of a mathematician than a computer scientist at heart, but after three years in college, I realized that math wasn’t much fun anymore. Since then, much of my career has really just developed by chance. A friend called and said it was time to stop studying and start working for them as a developer instead. And that’s how it turned out.
I didn’t choose this profession; it chose me,” says Andreas.
Becoming a freelance consultant in the midst of a pandemic
Andreas is currently on an assignment through Senterprise at one of Sweden’s major banks, where he is working to modernize how the bank’s data is made available in various customer applications.
“There, I call myself the front-end princess. I don’t build front-ends there, of course, but I build the APIs that make the data accessible—the storefronts to the data, so to speak—so it becomes quickly accessible to consumers.”
However, the partnership with Senterprise began much earlier. The relationship dates back to 2016, when Andreas was working as a staff consultant at a consulting firm and took on his first assignment through Senterprise.
“I started my own business in March 2020, a week before society shut down due to COVID. It might not seem like perfect timing, but luckily it all worked out anyway. My first assignment as a freelancer came through Senterprise, and since then it’s really been all Senterprise.”
A long-standing partnership
“We have a long history together, and I trust Senterprise as a company. Over the years, the assignments they’ve offered have always been a great fit for what I’m looking for, and I know that the opportunities I’m presented with are truly relevant. I feel confident that everything is handled transparently, and I’ve always received great support when it’s been time to move on to the next assignment,” says Andreas.
